Office of Admission & Financial Aid
The office has two functions as follows:
Academic & Administrative function
The Academic function deals with Admissions in General. University admission is the process through which students enter tertiary education at universities. The System varies widely from country to country, and sometimes from institution to institution. In the University of The Gambia, the process is done by enforcing the general criteria for Admission as decreed by the University Senate. The office is therefore responsible for coordinating and managing all activities of the Admissions department through the implementation of procedures, regulations and policies with regards to Admissions.
The Administrative functions deals with the issue of Financial Aid. Financial Aid deals particularly with Scholarship matters. Scholarships come from the government, educational institutions, and private agencies. Scholarships can be awarded based on merit or financial need. The Office is therefore responsible for coordinating all scholarships matters, local and international.
